Media and freedom

 

 

 

     I learned that I can't escape the media. For example, when I go on a trip to Florida, I see media everywhere I look. On bilboards, on my labtop,even on peoples cloths. I also learned that not everybody is traped by the media. For example people who do not go on the internet or watch t.v might not see media as often. But these people might see media even if they don't know it.

 

   Am I free from the media? Well, in my oppinion I am not free. For example, I go on the internet and watch t.v and I see media every single day. I know that i can't escape the influence of media because most of the things i buy are because I see it on the internet or in school. For example my shoes. I saw them online and i loved them. I went to a store and saw them. They were pritty exspensive but i still bought them. Another example was when i was watching a a t.v show. They showed this beautiful car and they made a little preview of it. At the end of the show they said go to this website and check out the prizes that were showed on todays epiode. Then I discoved that they perpousely showed this at the end of the show so people would go to this website and become a member and may i say is not free. Allot of people see media and buy things because they saw it on TV or the internet because some people do not like to go shopping so they try to find things on the internet or on the television then go to the store that has them and buy them without looking for them. 

 

   How can I increase my freedom from the media? Well, if I stopped watching TV in the morning and going on the computer in the morning I might see less media in my life. But I can't escape the media completely because I can't not just stop going on the internet and not watch TV completely because it’s practically part of my life. Most American's watch TV and go on the internet so they see media allot as well. I think that if some people think they can escape the media and still go on the internet and still watch TV there wrong because media is still going to be there and you can't erase it from your life completely.
